Home Event Details
GUEST LECTURE Dr. Rathin Roy
Topic: Fiscal Space Speaker: Dr. Rathin Roy, Director, National Institute of Public Finance and Policy – August 13
The lecture encompassed the need for a Fiscal Space in developing countries like India to really understand the concept of Fiscal Deficit. He solved questions regarding the working of the Fiscal policies in our country with real life examples. A simple policy tool developed by Dr. Rathin Roy called the Fiscal Space Diamond using four major parameters, has been widely acknowledged so as to determine the Fiscal Space available to a country. The lecture was concluded with understanding the common controversy that a country faces between the growth and development trade off; and understanding the answer for the same.
