Theme - The Role of Monetary Policy Committee at RBI in shaping Monetary Policy of the nation

Dr. Ashima Goyal was the chief speaker for the event convened. She is the recent government appointee to the six-member Monetary Policy Committee at RBI. She is also a professor at the IGIDR. The event was inaugurated with an opening remark from the director of Symbiosis School of Economics, Dr. Jyoti Chandiramani. Followed by which Dr. Goyal highlighted the importance of monetary policy and the intricacies of the working of the MPC committee. The event witnessed participation of 120 attendees ranging from faculties and students in and outside SSE. A question- and-answer session was solely designed for the attendees to make the session more dialogue based than a monologue session. Diversified viewpoint and an in-depth discussion on the role of MPC was discussed which accustomed the students in identifying the impact that RBI has on the citizens of the country.
