The biggest take away from SSE for me is "Thinking beyond Books". Before coming to SSE I was very much accustomed to a world where exams were all about studying books and pouring it out on the exam paper. However, those theories actually became clear when our faculty at SSE connected those theories to the real world. The internal components like writing Assignments & Research Papers enhanced our analytical thinking and thus helped us to gain a lot of knowledge which we could not gain by just reading books. The best part was writing a dissertation on a research question of our own choice. It actually made us "think" which no written exam can do! Understanding theories and connecting them to real-world is very important. Only, then we can become real economists.

SSE has given me innumerable opportunities for conducting research works, not just for the purpose of examination, but also for the sake of augmenting knowledge. The college and the faculty have been the most supportive when it came to permitting us for conducting primary surveys. Our Director, Dr. Jyoti Chandiramani, and the other faculties have always welcomed new ideas and motivated us to go ahead with them. A few instances would be my research works on the Transgender Community and the Slum Rehabilitation Scheme in Pune. In other words, SSE has taught me to dream bigger and take risks. Every bit of appreciation that I would receive in my sphere of occupation could be accredited to SSE! so

Discipline, Hard-work, and perseverance is the only way to success. SSE has taught me to fight for everything (in a good sense). Nothing was served on the plate. I had to work hard for everything. Also, the fond memories would be a huge takeaway from SSE. SSE made me more efficient. It brought the best out of me. The overall learning at this institute has shaped me as a person. GO Humility and hard work are my top takeaways. Knowing Mil‘only my love for economics, I joined SSE. Two years at SSE took me through self-doubt and tested my love. But, finally, I came out surer of my subject and with a clearer purpose.
